SiMpLe and ChEaP Thanksgiving Table setting

  •  I wanted a simple earthy look to my Thanksgiving table this year and I love to look for ways to do it on the cheap so here is what I came up with this year.
  • I decided to incorporate some glass into my table with some natural fill material in the bottoms.  I first went to Dollar Tree and found glass candle holders and candlestick holders that I glued together to make some taller elements for my table.

Don't forget a filler for your the candles, this trail mix I found worked great and added some texture.

I also gathered some fresh pine from my parents yard and pinecones.....this fit my earthy look.

Here is the place setting I mixed my nice china with a casual fall plate and wicker placemat.  The napkins are actually dish towels from IKEA for .50 cents each.  Pumpkins are from my Dad's garden and the berry wreaths I already had.  And there you have it!  A simple table setting that cost me about $17 !! I just need to add some cute place cards and perhaps some add some crabapple berries with the pine.    What fun things are you putting together for your Thanksgiving table??

I'm not putting together anything. A restaurant is sounding good to me right now...my sister broke her foot who was doing the Thanksgiving dinner.
Your table looks earthy and beautiful I love it alot.So now your are saturated/blackened. Lets see if Shellie agrees! Blackened is earthy, nature.
LOVE the trail mix in your candles too, at first I thought it was beans. I would have to do beans or my big paws would be eating the trail mix.

OK, I don't care if I am sick, I'm getting dressed and heading to All a dollar for those class things. You are so cleaver, and the nuts, perfect. And the rest is icing on the cake. I think your great. Do you cook dinner too. Let Brenda and Carl go to your house this year, it sounds like their up for grabs.

Will it hold?

Cindy-
Sorry I had the glue pictured in one of the pictures but it got cut off. The glue I love to use is E-6000 glue. I get mine at Hobby lobby but I am sure you could find it just about anywhere. It is great stuff!! Good Luck! And post some pictures on your blog when you get them put together I can't wait to see what you put together!

You are so creative! I don't know how you just come up with these great ideas of buying things and then gluing them together! Sounds like I need to go on a trip to the dollar store with you!
